Mary Hallock Foote & Wallace Stegner: An ongoing dilemma of authorship. Sands's comic-drama, Fair Use, which explores the controversy surrounding Wallace Stegner's use of the life and the verbatim writing of 19th century artist/illustrator, Mary Hallock Foote in his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Angle of Repose, receives a staged reading in Boise, ID. Art Luna is a terrific supporter of the arts in Sacramento, and in his legendary Cafe he has hosted hundreds of memorable literary and musical events. I'm delighted to be part of this one: Songwriter Showcase, with host Tony Galioto. Other songwriters include Jahari Sal and Steve Montgomery; there's also an open mic—bring your instrument and play a song! Terrific food and beverage. Luna's is a lovely place to spend a Saturday afternoon and we all hope to see you there. 4:00-7:00.
