This year the focus of the Sierra Writers Conference is “PROCESS: Pre-write to Promotion.” I’ll be among those leading workshops (I’ll address “Fictional Techniques for the Nonfiction Writer”); other teachers and presenters include Julie Baker, Gene Berson, Catharine Bramcamp, Betsy Graziani Fasbinder, Larry Gold, Patricia Dove Miller, and Mary Volmer; the keynote address will be delivered by California Book Award winner Josh Weil. The website is full of information, with links to each of these authors’ workshops and presentations. There is also the option of critique sessions.
The cost for this day of of workshops and keynote address is $65. (Just $45 if you register by January 15th!) Critique sessions are $20 (if you’re not ready to put up a piece of your own, you can audit for $10)
As the website says: “Ready to hone your craft – collaborate with other writers – get professional advice about your work… come to the Sierra Writers Conference to work on your process, join a community of writers, and participate in professional critique sessions. Join us for a day of learning, sharing, growing and being inspired to craft your words into the stories, articles and books that only you can write.”
